In the latest State Farm v. Hood action, on Wednesday afternoon State Farm filed an emergency motion in the Northern District of Mississippi to compel Dickie Scruggs to appear for a deposition which was scheduled for Friday at 9:00 AM. On Thursday morning Scruggs filed an emergency motion to quash. Late Thursday US District Judge Michael Mills consolidated the motions, postponed the deposition pending a hearing, and set the hearing for 2:00 PM Friday.
